Let me first start off by saying that when I found out that Clare was making the short stories of Magnus into a hardcover, I was ecstatic. I had been wanting to read them for quite some time. I am always disappointed when I find out a novella or short story to a series is just available in ebook format because I refuse to buy an ereader. With that said, I was not extremely disappointed in this but I was not greatly impressed with this either. Its Clare we’re talking about and she co-authored these stories.

    Plot Summary:

Magnus is immortal. Being immortal, he has done some pretty insane things and has traveled all around the world. He has met every Shadowhunter family member being involved with them in some sort of way. He has helped many people out of tough situations and has fallen in and out of love many times through the course of history. He has also gone through great loss.

He doesn’t even consider being immortal a curse. He lies about his age to everyone and seems totally and completely at ease with life stretching out endlessly.

    My Reaction:

Some stories were dull and others were great. For me personally, I have a fear of getting old so I would love to be blessed with the gift of immortality. Time passing by wouldn’t even faze me just like it doesn’t faze Magnus.

Overall, I wish all authors put their short stories in a hardcover like this. Authors are missing out on sales when they don’t factor in the readers who refuse to buy an ereader.
